The Cavan FC GOLD Program is our structured student volunteer initiative designed to support high school students in earning their community involvement hours while developing valuable life and leadership skills.
Through a variety of volunteer opportunities across our club, participants gain real-world experience while working toward achieving the Gold level recognition through Ontario’s new Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement. For more information, see our Student Volunteer Program
At Cavan FC, our club is built on community. Every game, every event, and every player experience is made possible by the time and dedication of our volunteers.
Whether you’re a parent, player, student, or community member, there’s a place for you to get involved.
As a volunteer, you can:
Cavan FC is proud to be a volunteer-driven organization. From coaches and game leaders to event organizers and board members, our volunteers are the foundation of everything we do.
By getting involved, you’re not just helping run a soccer program — you’re helping build a stronger, more connected community.
These roles are ideal for individuals looking to make a consistent impact throughout the season or year. Ongoing volunteers help shape the direction of the club, support program delivery, and play a key role in creating a positive experience for our players and families.
Whether you’re interested in joining a sub-committee, helping with operations, or contributing your skills behind the scenes, these opportunities offer a meaningful way to stay involved and make a lasting difference.
Looking for a flexible way to get involved? These opportunities are perfect for volunteers who want to contribute without a long-term commitment.
From helping at our End-of-Year Festival to assisting with field setup in the spring or teardown in the fall, these short-term roles are essential to keeping our club running smoothly. Every hour helps, and these events are a great way to meet others and be part of the Cavan FC community.
In 2024, the Ontario government introduced the Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement, a new initiative designed to recognize high school students who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to volunteering and community service throughout their school years. The program encourages students to go beyond the minimum required hours and strive toward higher levels of achievement, with the Gold Seal representing the highest standard of dedication, leadership, and impact.
At Cavan FC, we fully support this initiative and see it as an incredible opportunity for our players and youth in the community.
Our club has always been about more than just soccer. We strive to see our players excel in all areas of life — not just on the pitch, but also academically and within their communities. The Cavan FC GOLD Program was created to help our players achieve exactly that.
By providing structured, meaningful volunteer opportunities throughout the year, we are helping students build the habits, skills, and experiences they need to succeed — while also working toward one of Ontario’s highest recognitions for youth community involvement.
